Our biology programs emphasize discovery-based learning across a variety of fields, with hands-on experience offered through faculty mentorship, off-campus internships, and short-term travel courses in areas ranging from Coastal Maine to the Bermuda Islands.
Optional areas of emphasis for a biology major or minor include:
- Cell/Molecular Biology & Infectious Diseases: Deepen your understanding of organisms at the cellular and molecular level with hands-on laboratory exercises.
- Ecology & Evolution: Examine organisms’ interactions with their environments and how environmental pressures have shaped life over time.
- Physiology & Organismal Biology: Dive deep into the study of organisms through tissues, organs, organ systems, and the interactions of organisms with each other and their environments.
